The Choir’s mission is to enrich, inspire and transform lives through music and lifelong learning, strengthening our exciting and vibrant community.
Nelson Civic Choir is a vital part of the Nelson community. As well as producing excellent choral concerts to sold-out audiences several times a year, members of the choir also enjoy the friendships which are part of attending weekly rehearsals, occasional weekend workshops and social functions. Your generous support will allow us to continue to mount choral concerts around Nelson with high production values and a standard of musical and choral excellence.

Jason Balla – Music & Artistic Director
Jason has had a life immersed in music, from Wales to Oxford to London, and from Europe on to the USA and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. With more than 40 years experience performing on the international concert stage and major opera houses he brings to Nelson all of the talent, knowledge and experience necessary to develop the Nelson Civic Choir – in numbers and vocal strength – into the thriving community group it has now become. Jason has a great vision for future productions.

BECOME A PATRON OF THE ARTS
Supporters can choose a pathway as:
- Donors (Make a contribution with no benefits in return – GST exempt; may qualify for a 33.33% tax credit)
- Sponsors (Receive benefits such as tickets and/or advertising – GST applies)
- Combination (Please check with your accountant for advice.)
All supporters receive: Concert News newsletters, reserved seating at concerts, complimentary programmes, and invitations to social events.
Advertising applies to all concerts within the year; tickets are valid for any concert.
SUPPORT LEVELS
Overture – $75 – $499 pa
- 1 complimentary concert ticket
- Name listed in programme and on website as ‘Overture Supporter’
Aria – $500 – $2,499 pa
- 3 complimentary concert tickets
- Name listed in programme and on website as ‘Aria Supporter’
- 1/8 page programme advertisement
Cantata – $2,500 – $4,999 pa
- 7 complimentary concert tickets
- Name listed in programme and on website as ‘Cantata Supporter’
- 1/2 page programme advertisement
Impresario – $5,000 or more pa
- 11 complimentary concert tickets
- Name listed in programme and on website as ‘Impresario Supporter’
- Full page programme advertisement
- VIP access to dress rehearsals
