Choral Kaleidoscope was an immersive concert featuring favourites from Vivaldi, Fauré, Morricone, Lennon and more. Blending inspiring choral singing with multimedia visuals, this uplifting event gave audience and performers colour, drama and musical magic.

Choral Kaleidoscope was a landmark concert experience from the Nelson Civic Choir under the direction of Music and Artistic Director Jason Balla. Presented in an enhanced digital and multimedia format, this production transformed the traditional choral concert into a richly immersive event, combining powerful live performance with visual storytelling. Designed to captivate both seasoned concertgoers and new audiences alike, this project highlighted the choir’s artistic versatility while embracing contemporary presentation styles that deepen audience engagement and broaden community reach.

The programme swept through some of the world’s most beloved choral masterpieces — from the brilliance of Antonio Vivaldi and the lyricism of Gabriel Fauré, to the cinematic passion of Ennio Morricone, the iconic songwriting of John Lennon, and the theatrical flair of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Audiences also experienced the contemporary power of Karl Jenkins, the romantic richness of Engelbert Humperdinck, and the soaring anthem You Raise Me Up by Brendan Graham and Rolf Lovland, alongside traditional songs and other treasured works. This kaleidoscope of musical colour was an uplifting and inclusive experience that celebrated the enduring power of choral music while reimagining how it can be seen, heard, and felt in the digital age.
